Plot: Steven Russell (Jim Carrey) is a policeman has it all, a nice family, nice house, nice car, but one day (actually night) has a terrible accident. However, while recovering from the accident he has a revelation. That he’s gay. So, he starts being gay after that. However, he finds out that being with his boyfriend is quite costly, so he needs to make more money.
So, the easiest way for him to get more money is to con people, so he starts faking accidents to sue companies and get more money. However, that doesn’t go well for long so he gets into prison, where he meets the love of his life, Phillip Morris (Ewan McGregor). And he tries to do anything to be with him because they keep getting separated, and an entire adventure unfolds from here.
