Plot: This is Tim Allen’s debut as a film director (leaving aside the Home Improvement show he did for that many years). In Crazy on the Outside, Tim Allen plays the role of an ex-con that discovers life outside the prison is a lot tougher than he thought. The film has a dream distribution, with Ray Liotta playing the bad guy, Sigourney Weaver as his sister who’s been telling everybody that for the past 3 years he’s not been to prison but in France (not that would be any different food-wise), along with Kelsey Grammer (Frasier star), Carrie-Anne Moss and Julie Bowen. What Tim tries now is starting over, a new job (cleaning toilets but still a job), a new adultery with his ex-wife (that left him 6 months after he was in prison), and why not a new girlfriend in the form of the probation officer. A must-see comedy given the unusual “cocktail” of actors playing in Crazy on the Outside.
