Plot:
In “Season of the Witch” Nicolas Cage plays the role of a 14th century Crusader. He and his comrade (played by Ron Perlman) return to a land devastated by the Black Plague. A close-minded church concil blames the plague on the witchery of a girl (Claire Foy). They decide to let the two crusaders escort the girl to a remote abbey, where monks will have to sacrifice her in a ritual hoping that their act will end the pestilence.
This turns out to be a very difficult job for the 2 crusarders and their helpers: a priest (Stephen Campbell Moore), a grieving knight (Ulrich Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Stephen Graham) and an young man that wants to become a knight (Robert Sheehan). Their mission has dangers at every corner due to hostile wilderness. In the end they will have to decide the fate of the girl.
