Hanna, the young assassin

Movie: Hanna (2011)

  • Director: Joe Wright
  • Writers: Seth Lochhead, David Farr
  • Release Date: 8 April 2011
  • Country: USA
  • Genre: Action, Adventure, Thriller
  • Main cast: Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana

Plot:
Hanna is a thriller directed by Joe Wright, starring Saoirse Ronan (the dead girl from The Lovely Bones).

Her role in this movie is not that of a lovely little girl, but of a trained assassin. She was raised by her father (Eric Bana of Star Trek), an ex-CIA man, in Finland, and trained to become the perfect assassin. This is scary because you wouldn’t expect that kind of violence from a little girl.

After living and training in the wild for quite some time (until she’s sixteen), her father sends her into the world with a mission to kill Marissa (Cate Blanchett). The plot is not so simple though, and from what Cate Blanchett says it seems that Hanna might have been engineered to be a killer – we’ll know when the movie surfaces, as well as find out if Hanna will finally be able to kill her target and finish her mission.

Starts off great but flounders like a dead fish after killing everyone then shooting out all the cameras in the interrogation room. She should have snapped Joe wright the directors neck for turning this movie into a train wreck.

That’s what I thought too noah, and it’s too bad because Hanna seemed like a great movie judging by the trailer. Anyway, I’m used to being disappointed by movies.

I dont understand why the film has gotten such good reviews tho???

its just another thriller where the main character has no idea whats going on and just gets past with some moves then around the 1 hour 30min mark they finally manage to get past the spoiler tag then queue killing spree where they decide “they wont run no more”

i thot it would be fresh how its a teenage assassin, but everything went to shit after hanna escapes from the underground facility. i didnt understand the characters either-that girl hanna befriends comes off as spoilt and rude but suddenly she grows 10 kgs of balls to defend some random girl she spent like 40 min screen time with? And the main antagonist lady shoots an old defenceless lady faster than she can have a flashback but pussies out of a hundred and one opportunities to shoot hanna in the last 5 minutes?? And dont even get me started on Lord Beckett’s extremem makeover.

Hanna fails to meet the standards both as ‘girl’ and ‘assassin.’ if your looking for a quality time i recommend you wait for Assassins Creed: Revelations to come out; if youre looking for “violence from a little girl” then go watch kick-ass

ManNeR, your last recommendation is brilliant, Kick-Ass is a lot better than Hanna, because it has an unpredictable story. In Hanna you know from the beginning what’s going to happen, not to mention that with all that action is still a boring movie, the characters are too “mechanical”. I’d recommend another movie with an assassin girl, “Let Me In” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct5SK0XVr4E – well it’s a vampire girl but still a better movie than Hanna.
