  • Country: France
  • Genre: Documentary
  • Main cast: Tony Curtis, Piers Morgan, Kitty Kelley, Mohamed Al Fayed
  • Tagline: Princess Diana predicted her own death

Plot:

Unlawful Killing is a documentary about the suspicious death of Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed in a car accident. If you’re an American, “unlawful killing” is basically the legal term in England for “murder”, and it’s the verdict that was given in the trial after the accident. From the beginning you have to understand that this movie was sponsored entirely by Mohamed Al Fayed, Dodi’s father, and in my opinion this puts a question mark on how objective facts are presented. Of course some of the presented facts are clear, but the weak point in this is the opinion of those close to Diana (such as Tony Curtis or Piers Morgan).

Since Unlawful Killing tries to solve some of the mysteries surrounding Diana’s death, Brits would be the most interested people in the world to see it, right? Well, it seems that the Establishment wanted some 87 cuts to be made into the documentary, but when the director refused the movie was banned in England. So it will be in theaters all over the world, except in the one country where everyone would want to see it. I’m not a conspiracy theory adept, but it is a shame that in 2011 censorship at such a high level still exists in England. It only fuels conspiracy theories and increases movie’s popularity.

The trailer begins by presenting a paragraph from a letter Diana wrote to a friend of hers in 1993 (4 years before her death), where she practically was saying that if she will be killed, it’s going to be in an accident. That’s chilling, as well as the fact that all security cameras in the tunnel where the accident happened, were either malfunctioning or stopped. Other than that only a few excerpts from the interviews, so only watching the full movie will show all the proofs they present.

The conclusion that the documentary leads to is the fact that Prince Philip (who presumably had a Nazi background) and the British Secret Services were involved in the “killing” of Princess Diana, all because she was involved with a Muslim. The conclusion that I end up with is the fact that conspiracy theory believers will feel that this is the most accurate movie ever, while those that don’t believe it was more than an accident will say it’s a lousy attempt to explain an accidental death. You’ll have to understand that you will never know the truth, this will be one of those mysteries such as the one surrounding JFK’s murder, and nothing more.

Michael, unfortunately they haven’t released it yet in other countries either, this is what they say about the release date: “we are hard at work securing European-wide releases for the movie and once we have a release date we will post it”
