Plot:
Holly cow, what they do in Premium Rush is every biker’s dream. Ever wanted to drive your bike as fast as you can without using your brakes? Well that’s what this movie is about, bike messengers that deliver mail as fast as they can risking their lives. Think of Fast and Furious but with bikes not cars. Wilee (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) picks up an important envelope however that attracts a dirty cop (Michael Shannon) who tracks him all over town trying to get the envolpe at all costs.
Wilee is one hell of a cyclist, all the experience acumulated by dodging speeding cars, opened dors right in front of the bike and million of cranky pedestrians, will come in handy as he is biking for his life through the crowded streets of New York. His bike is super lightweight, has only one gear and no brakes, so you can imagine how tough it is to avoid becoming a stain on the road.
I’m a cyclist too and I can honestly say that speeding through a crowded street is a fantasy I didn’t get a chance to experience. So Premium Rush is one movie I’ll be sure to watch, strangely enough they release it in January 2012 when usually you want to see movies with snow, but I guess that’s the soonest they could release it. “I like to ride. Fixed gear, no brakes” could be the slogan of this movie.
