Plot:
I honestly wouldn’t have thought they would release a movie that combines so many superheroes. But they did, and that’s what The Avengers contains: Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Captain America all team up in order to defeat a mortal enemy that threatens to destroy the world. Nick Fury (the cool Samuel L. Jackson) is the director of the SHIELD agency (international peacekeeping organization) and he is the one that gathers all these superheroes to save the world from the imminent disaster.

The Avengers is produced by Marvel Studios and is based on the popular Marvel comic book series that started being published in 1963. If you live in America you’ve probably grown up with these comic books, not to mention that grownups read and collect them too. I know for sure that Sheldon collects them too (Big Bang Theory) as every other geek in US. Anyway, this is their target audience too, people that loved the comic books and watched other movies released by Marvel (such as Iron Man 1, 2, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America).

The trailer for Avengers shows incredible special effects, the only thing missing is the robots from Transformers, otherwise it has it all, explosions, space ships, super heroes not to mention the super hot Scarlett Johanson. The main cast of super heroes:

• Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark, the main hero in Iron Man.
• Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America.
• Mark Ruffalo as Dr. Bruce Banner, the Incredible Hulk.
• Chris Hemsworth plays Thor, the guy with the hammer.
• Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff, a highly trained badass spy.
• Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, a master archer.
• Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, as badass as in Matrix.
• Tom Hiddleston as Loki, the Norse god of mischief.
• Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, a mom that kicks ass.

The Avengers is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2012 in the United States.
